Chinese academic delegation visits NLPD to enhance student exchange opportunities between the two countries.

An academic delegation from China visited the National Language Promotion Department (NLPD) as part of a wide-ranging student exchange initiative between Pakistan and China. This program envisions 1,000 students from each nation studying at universities in the partner country to bolster educational links, cultural understanding, and longstanding bilateral relations.

The Chinese delegation included several prominent individuals such as pharmaceutical expert Zhao Liang and cultural expert Zhao Li Min, along with other distinguished personalities. On the Pakistani side, the delegation was joined by Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed and Muhammad Murtaza Noor.

Dr. Rashid Hameed, Executive Director of NLPD, along with senior officials, extended a warm welcome to the visitors and stressed the importance of academic collaboration between the two countries.

Professor Dr. Muhammad Saleem Mazhar, head of the department, described the relationship between Pakistan and China as one of historic and exceptional strength. He emphasized the student exchange program as a clear demonstration of mutual trust and shared aspirations for development.

Dr. Mazhar also expressed hope that initiatives in education, culture, and language would deepen youth engagement and strengthen mutual understanding between Pakistani and Chinese students.

Professor Dr. Lixin Zhang, a prominent Chinese academic and leader of the delegation from Northwest A&F University, commended the quality of Pakistan’s academic institutions, the brilliance of its students, and the nation’s warm hospitality.

Dr. Zhang noted that Pakistan-China relations have grown beyond governmental interactions into a deeply rooted cultural and people-centered friendship. He stressed that young people from both countries serve as the real ambassadors of this enduring alliance.

Both sides reiterated their firm commitment to expanding cooperation in education, culture, and scientific research, with a shared goal of fostering peace, development, and prosperity throughout the region.
