HONG KONG -- The three co-initiators of Hong Kong's Occupy movement said on Tuesday that they will surrender themselves to the police on Wednesday.

Chan Kin-man, professor of sociology at Chinese University, Benny Tai, law professor at the University of Hong Kong and Reverend Chu Yiu-ming?made the announcement at a press conference Tuesday afternoon, in which they urged protesters, including students, to leave the Occupy areas.

Chief Executive Leung Chun-ying warned that the authorities and community have exhausted their tolerance of the protest movement hours after protesters made a doomed attempt to besiege the government headquarters on Monday.

In a statement, the Hong Kong government strongly condemned the "violent acts" for endangering public safety and showing a "blatant disregard for the law".

Hong Kong's High Court?issued an injunction to ban a blockade in Mong Kok district?on Oct 20. The court extended the injunctions on Oct 27 and secondly extended them on Nov 10.

Following the execution of court orders, authorities managed to clear the major protest area in?the district and repoen main roads.
